Didn't expect that my 1/2 day off is approved, its was declined yesterday as my mgr was not expecting Nelson to be back today. Any way, the initial plan was to meet Cpt. Angelene (my OIC back in my NS days in SCDF) today @ around 7.30pm @Bendemeer. As my off is approved, so i called her to push forward the meeting time.
Met Angelene, Catherine (PA to the Commisioner of SCDF) and Alice (OIC of the Secret Registry) in a restaurant call "丽华" along Bendemeer Rd. At 6.30pm. Had LOU HEI again (2nd time for this year). Really enjoyed this get together session as i really missed those days back during my NS time. Talked about the fun we had and all the hot gossips during that time. Remembered back in those days, how Angelene protected me from all "Charges" for being late for work. There's this 1 incident that leaves a very deep impression until now. I remembered that its a Monday morning, im supposed to be reporting to camp before 8am, and as usual i over slept and i called Angelene to inform her that i will be late and she's aware. But when i reached camp, there's this Sergeant (CSM) stopped me and made me sign an "extra" on the coming weekend.
Sergeant : You are late, sign 2 extra!
Me : I got approval from my officer to come in now.
Sergeant : I don't care who your officer is, this is not the 1st time you are late.
I signed the "Charge Form" and went back to office.
Me : Ma'am i kena "Charge" for coming late.
Angelene : Why? I gave you permission what!!!
Me : The Sergeant say he DON'T CARE who you are, he just want to "Charge" me.
Angelene : *Furious* Bring me to the Sergeant who "Charged" you.
Brought Angelene down to the guard room. Went up to the Sergeant.
Angelene : Good morning "Sergeant"
Sergeant : Good morning Ma'am
Angelene : I heard that you DON'T CARE who i am and insisted to "Charge" my NSF? Are you saying that the 3 bar on my shoulder is not enough to overwrite your 3 stripes on your arm? Sergeant : No Ma'am ....
Angelene tore off the "Charge Form" in front of him, and i gave him a smugged look before we walked off. Really grateful for her "protection" for my 2 years service for the governement. |
