As i had mentioned in my previous post, my dept had recently went through a revamp and reshuffling, and today will be the day for the Grand Opening Ceremony! Alot of those big shots of Standard Chartered Bank are invited. Im really feeling very uneasy with so may Big Bosses around, especially gotta lunch with them, cos gotta entertain them and answer to all questions thrown to us! Luckily our CEO Mike Denoma did not made it to the opening as he has some urgent meeting to attend to.... Otherwise the atmosphere will be even more tense! Thereafter, i spent my evening my a few of my colleagues, they say they wanna go pubbing so they asked if i wanna go along with them. Thinking that i don't have any other appointments after work, so i agreed to go with them. But i made a terrible mistake to have agreed to their invitations..... We all took Raj's car down to a pub in Duxton Road, looks like any ordinary pubs from the outside, and the inside its just like any other average karaoke pub. But i was so wrong.
From out of no where came a few Philippino gals, they all started to get touchy immediately!!! I was like OMFG!!! Im really lost at that moment!!! They started pressing their breasts against my arms and started pouring me drinks and stuffs!!! Immediately i turned to one of my colleague, to tell him that im really feeling very awkward and i wanted to leave, they told me to relax, they know.... its my 1st time and those gals are not meant for me, i juz need to sit back relax and enjoy my drink, so Law immediately got the attention of the gal which was supposed to "Entertain" me. Told them to leave me alone, only then i felt so much relax.....
Whoo, we drank and they played till like 11.30 before we decided to leave as few of us still gonna report to work the next day..... On our way home, Leon then asked me if i had a cultural experience from this outing? I replied to him saying its more like a "Cultural Shock" to me than an experience!!! O.o
Sam & i was discussing on where to have lunch. Alex then overheard us, he then suggested that we go to the newly opened Japanese Restaurant, Nihon Mura which is located inside Tampines Swimming Complex. As its newly opened hence they are having a promotion, every plate of Sushi costs only $0.99, which i find its damn cheap lor..... So i insisted we go there for lunch =P

Its really a cheap deal, we each ate like 9 plates! Really had a satisfying and sumptuous lunch. Morever i don't need to pay a cent as Sam said that this would be his treat. For no particular reason! Think he must have strike Toto or made some winnings from soccer bet?!?! Any way i headed over to Tampines Mall after lunch to buy movie tickets for tonight's show while Sam said that he wanted to go back to office as he still has alot of work undone.

Reason for catching a movie is because of the $2 discount vouchers given to me by Rajesh and it will expires on 30th Sept, so not wanting to waste it, i dated Kelly to go watch with me =P I wanted to watch Miami Vice but Kelly wanted to watch some funny show to de-stress so we both agreed on "John Tucker Must Die"
Lazing at home till 6.30pm. Went on down to Suntec to meet up with Shawnie, Nic & James for dinner. Actually Shawn, jio-ed me to go gyming with him. Being the lazy old me.... of cos i would say "no" hahaha, thinking that must bring clothins to change, must carry bag, bring things to shower etc.... giving any excuses to give gyming a miss =D
Had plans to meet up with a "Dota friend" of mine, Desmond Yip, whom i knew him online who is coincidently working at Carrefour Suntec. Headed over to Carrefour to look for Desmond but too bad he's not there, called him and he's having dinner! Sigh.... any way, im rushing off for my dinner appointment liao so Des & i agreed for a dinner appointment soon......

After meeting up with Shawn and gang, we were undecisive on whether to have dinner @Joaquim (The nice smelling Steamboat beside "Congress") or walk over to Marina Square's Suki Yaki (Got he DIY ice-cream thingy). The whole concept is exactly like Seoul Garden, BBQ and Steamboat..... As usual always hated to do the BBQ-ing as its sure that the oil will be splashing all over my hand O.o And so thanks to Nic, he did all the BBQ-ing stuff while i juz sat there waiting to be served. And as for the Steamboat part, Shawn did all the Prawns cooking and peeling, and again im being served like a "King" =D Really had a satisfying dinner and enjoyable dinner together ^^
Was surprise to see Sam coming back to work on a Saturday. He came back to work just to do up our notice board as he kena arrow by BIG BOSS to put it up =D Any way, after work he jio-ed me to go catch a movie, as i got no appointment so i agreed.
Our 1st destination was Suntec City. Reason for going there is because i want to buy the Solar operating Daffy Duck. I saw Sam got a Marvin Martian on his desk so i also want to get one for myself =P. Whoo.... the security was so tight over in Suntec due to the IMF, here cannot go, there cannot cross, every where is a dead end.... its almost impossible to go over to Suntec from City Link! The only way there is thru Millenia Walk! Guess the business in Suntec must have been greatly affected. When we reached there, all those restaurants in the basement are almost empty, with less than 5customers in each restaurant! Its that bad!
Thereafter we went over to Orchard for our movie! Initially wanted to watch in Lido, but had got a bad experience there due to one of the tiny and ulu cinema i been to recently so i decided to boycott it for the time being =P So we went on to Cineleisure. Had our dinner @Subway before our show, "Little Man"! Wahahaha, its another really a super duper hilarious show by the Wayans brothers since the movie "White Chick" =D
09th September 2006 (Saturday) Running a high fever when i woke up this morning..... called up my direct superior, Sam, to inform him that i can't go to work, but he says that he now has no more authority to approve my MC any more, i have to call up our BIG BOSS to inform him instead as we both report directly to the BIG BOSS..... So got no choice, i rather go to work than talking to "him".....
Struggling at work the whole morning, really glad the 1/2 day work ended quicker than i expected, might be due to the heavy call volumn. After work i walked over to Telepark as there's a company doctor where i can consult, but to my surprise, the clinic does not operates on Sat & Sun!! So no choice gotta take a bus back to my neighbourhood for the other company doctor's clinic..... after which was supposed to meet Shawn as im supposed to meet up with him to go Queensway to get a pair of Puma shoes, but as im really feeling terrible and hence decided to go home to rest abit and also to take some medications before going out to meet him.....
Took my medications and took a 1hr nap before i left home. Met him at Bugis and we took bus 51 to Queensway.... Went to quite a number of shops before i can find the design i like.... Bought it after some hesitations as its the last pair there, and we did try many other shops, but sadly all ran out of my sizes so no choice gotta take the display pair! Thereafter went on down to Parklane to meet up with 4 of Shawn's friends as they have arranged to play a few rounds of Dota. Surprisingly there's a girl in the group, my 1st thought was like "Whoa, girl play Dota!! Pro sia!!!" =D Any way she's quite good for a girl playing Dota. Really had fun gaming with thme =D
Managed to get a 1/2 day off from my BIG BOSS..... Really needed a time out from the stressful environment im in now.... In juz 2days i can feel the tension and stress working so near to the BIG BOSS!!! Morever he's the most demanding BOSS i've ever worked with.....
Any way, met up with JianHui & Chris @Orchard as JianHui wanted to watch his favorite kind of movie (those gory kind, think he's a sadist, well guess he juz love pain =D) Shopped quite awhile before we settled our dinner a Japanese restaurant named "Ken" which is located in the building next to OG. Chris strongly recommended us there as he find the Ramen there is one of the best in Spore! (Sound kinda exagerating) But after trying it, it's not as marvelicious as what Chris has described it, tastes kinda similar to Ajisan, luckily its not worse than Ajisan, otherwise he's gonna get it =D
Thereafter, we settled for a round of dessert in a Cafe in Cineleisure. I had banana split while Chris had a brownie with ice-cream and JianHui had some kind of funny tasting cake =\ After which is movie time! Below is a short summary about the movie. My dept has recently went thru a revamp. Now im seated with all the big bosses! No more freedom, no more flexible timing, no music, no crap, no nothing!!!! Simply say the working environment is juz like a prison....
Its juz the 2nd day in my new environment and im so unhappy already. I can forsee that it won't be easy in the days to come..... 1st thing in the morning is a questioning session from my BIG BOSS on why my phone is on AUX from the time of 7pm-7.40pm last evening and only after 7.40pm then im back to auto-in? I was thinking to myself, my official working hour is from 10am-7pm, im not obligated to take calls during that time! I continued to take calls even after my working hours is because there were call queues then, and my colleagues were struggling!! He did not get the facts right and juz jumped on me! Not juz that, my 1st call for the dat was from Brunei & i have not got instructions that we are supposed to take on Brunei calls as well so after the call, i called up Brunei office juz to check on why the calls is coming to Spore, then my BIG BOSS overheard my conversation, again he jumped on me saying that its my responsibilty to take Brunei calls wef from 04/09/2006!!! My mind then was in a blank!! Of cos i fought back saying that i got no news nor instruction on taking on Brunei calls, how can he say that its my responsibility to take those calls! Luckily my direct superior was seated beside me and overheard us, he came into the conversation saying that we in fact have not got any confirmation on taking Brunei calls yet!! The only country that is confirmed coming to Spore is only Philippines!! Of cos being the BIG BOSS he's not happy, he insisted to clarify things with our Unit manager. And the finally outcome is we in fact has not got any confirmations to take Brunei calls yet! Thats not the end to the day yet! I got news that my working time will be changed from 10-7 to 11-8!!! Making things worse is that the day off i requested for tmr 06/09/2006 has been rejected!!! Reason is becos we juz settled into the new dept and we need time to adjust and settle down!
I really had a really bad day today! Its my 1st time in my 2.5yrs in SCB that im so unhappy! Really almost burst into tears!!! I don't know how long can i hold on to this kind of environment. With juz a few hundred dollars increment and work in this kind of environment.... i rather take my miserable pay and continue with my happy go lucky work.....
Met up with HengFong (Childhood Neighbour). Went to the Comex fair in Expo, got intentions to but a LCD monitor, as CRT is really taking up lotsa space!!! But after some calculations, im not in the position to spend money now, exhausted out too much of my savings during my last 2 trips to HK & Thailand hence now gotta be more thrifty..... Maybe to buy it on the next PC show.....
After that went down to meet Shawn as we have not been meeting up for a very long time, he's too cropped up with his A level's studies so i won't want to disturb him. But he called me & initiated a dinner date, i agreed immediately as i've not seen him for like almost 1mth liao..... Played a few games of Dota before walking over to Somerset to settle our dinner @Sakura Intl Buffet.
We really stuffed ourselves to the max! Ate till we almost vomitted.... Can't even finish our dessert, ice-cream. My stomach is filled up to the extend that when i ate juz 1 spoonful of ice-cream, i almost threw up!!! That is how full i was!!! Sigh..... did i pay money to enjoy or to suffer???
